Sir Colin and Lady Anderson were passionate about the Art Nouveau style, a ‘new’ and integrated approach to art and design. Their collection encompassed a great range of objects from the movement and includes furniture by Gallé and Majorelle, graphics by Alphonse Mucha, exquisite jewellery by Lalique and Fouquet, glass by Daum, Gallé and Tiffany and metalware made for Liberty. Sir Colin and Lady Anderson also acquired a range of Art Nouveau objects made by unknown designers who adapted the style to the commercial opportunities of mass production.

A new catalogue of the Anderson Collection, featuring 70 colour photographs and essays by Dr Gillian Naylor, Alice Millington-Drake and Dr Veronica Sekules, is available to from Cornerhouse Publications.
