1st Oct 2002 - 8th Dec 2002
Nineteen artists were featured in this exhibition of sixty ceramic works by sculptors, ceramists, jewellers and designers who have spent time in residence at the European Ceramic Work Centre (EKWC) in the Netherlands.
The EKWC is an international workspace which aims to develop experimental work in ceramics. The diverse works resulting from these residencies explore the capabilities and possibilities of ceramic as a material rather than a crafts discipline. Slip offered the visitor an opportunity to see a range of exciting and invigorating work – work which is helping to redefine our understanding of contemporary ceramics.
Slip is a collaboration between the Frans Hals Musuem, Haarlem, the European Ceramic Work Centre, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.
