A display of work by artist Chinwe Chukwuogo-Roy in the link corridor and Living Area
Chinwe Chukwuogo-Roy was resident at the Sainsbury Centre in October for Black History Month. She created new work inspired by African masks in the Robert and Lisa Sainsbury Collection - some of which is on display in the living area.
Chinwe was born in Akwa, in Eastern Nigeria and now lives and works in the UK. She works in various media and her subjects range from portraiture, still life and landscape to pictures that caprture the traditions and cultures of the African continent. Chinwe's painting of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (the Golden Jubilee portrait), has received world wide recognition. Her work is represented in public and private collections in many countries.
