Masterpieces of the Sainsbury Centre

£12.50

In the late 1920’s, Robert Sainsbury began buying modern art. In 1937 he married Lisa Van den Bergh, who shared his passion for art, and the couple laid the foundations for what would grow into a world renowned art collection. In the 1970’s, the Sainsburys made the decision to make that collection publically available, and opened the Sainsbury Cente for Visual Arts. A spectacular new building designed by Norman Foster would house the collection, and also provide a world-class facility for research and education. Masterpieces of the Sainsbury Centre celebrates the collection, and the unique vision of the Sainsburys.
